Want to watch a game of football this weekend but not sure which one to tune into? There’s either Tottenham vs. Watford or Bournemouth vs. Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier League, or you could tune into Super Sunday where Sunderland host Manchester United and Everton take on Leicester.
Alternatively, Barcelona are in La Liga action at Malaga on Saturday evening or you could switch over to the Eredivisie on Sunday where Feyenoord travel to PEC Zwolle.
But if you want a game that is virtually guaranteed goals, do all you can to find a link to the MLS Western Conference clash between FC Dallas and Minnesota United.
Minnesota, nicknamed the Loons, have been involved in 30 goals in just five games this campaign and make the 1,000 mile trip to Texas to face a side that has won the Western Conference for the past two seasons.
The Loons, in their first MLS season along with Atlanta United (competing in the Eastern Conference) have scored ten and conceded 20 goals. But it’s not all doom and gloom for Minnesota, who picked up their first win of the campaign last weekend against Real Salt Lake.
Adrian Heath, who played for Stoke, Everton, Aston Villa and Manchester City before retiring in 1997 is in charge of Minnesota, having previously managed Eastern Conference outfit Orlando City.
As a player, Heath won two Division One titles, an FA Cup, four Charity Shields and the 1985 UEFA Super Cup with the Toffees. The 56-year-old also guided Orlando City to two USL Pro League titles in 2011 and 2013.
Owner Bill McGuire purchased Minnesota Stars in November 2012 and rebranded the club as Minnesota United. On 25 March 2015, it was announced that the club would be entering the MLS. McGuire was chairman and chief executive of UnitedHealth Group between 1991 and 2006 and was ranked at number 332 on Forbes rich list in 2006, with an estimated worth of $1.2bn.

On the pitch, the Loons prepared for the current campaign by bringing in no fewer than 16 new faces, with Heath opting to link up with former Orlando City midfielder Kevin Molino once again. The Trinidadian joined Minnesota in a deal in the region on $650,000 and has started to prove his value with two goals and two assists already in the opening five games.
Christian Ramirez currently leads the goalscoring charts for Heath’s side, with four goals to his name for United, having previously scored 51 in 90 appearances for the club before they joined the MLS.
On the flip side, however, FC Dallas are slightly more reserved than their visitors on Saturday. Colombian Oscar Pareja is in charge of the Toro’s and has overseen two 2-1 victories against LA Galaxy and New England Revolution, either side of a 0-0 draw with Sporting Kansas City.
Dallas haven’t played a league game since 18 March due to their involvement in the CONCACAF Champions League, where they lost 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-finals to Mexican outfit Pachuca.
Maximiliano Urruti is the main man for Dallas, with the Argentinean forward already on three league goals in two games this season, while former Wigan Athletic and Hull defender Maynor Figueroa is also in the roster for Pareja’s side.
So, if entertainment is on the agenda for this weekend’s football, look no further than the MLS.
